Maple

A Prominent Native Northern Forest Species

Known as the Maple Capital of the United States, Vermont’s woods are filled with mighty maple trees. Currier Forest Products custom mills and sustainably harvests maple trees which serve many purposes including high-end construction projects and furniture making.

We offer both hard and soft maple for your custom projects. Please contact us to discuss which options will work best for you.

Hard Maple

Taphole Maple
Taphole maple tells a sweet story. During the process of making maple syrup, sugar maples are tapped with small spouts to collect sap. Tapping does not hurt the tree, but it does create beautiful grains and character as the tree grows around the embedded tap.

Sugar Maple
Sugar Maple is one of the most prominent native trees in our northern forest. Its hardness and durability ensure long-lasting, high-quality products.

Soft Maple

Soft Maple is an all-encompassing term used to describe maple that ranks lower on the Janka Hardness Test. Soft maple tends to weigh less than hard maple, but is still an incredible durable and versatile wood, frequently used in furniture making and veneering.
