HISTORIC FLOORING, PANELING, WAINSCOTING, BOARDS & TIMBERS
New England has long been known for its large beautiful trees. In 1761, King George had all large white pine trees over 36” in diameter blazed and claimed in his name. Later, in 1772, the British Parliament expanded this to include pine trees over 12” in diameter. As a result, individuals had to purchase a royal license to cut and process “king’s pine” trees and inspectors were created to enforce this act….leading to the pine tree riots of 1772 and in no small way contributing to the revolutionary slogan “no taxation without representation.”
Currier Forest Products respects both that history and the beauty and spirit of large trees. Through the sustainable stewardship of the forests on our 6th generation family farm, we are still able to offer the kinds of products our forefathers fought for and are generally unavailable elsewhere today.
We offer a variety of historic products including:
• Wide boards (up to 24”) for horizontal wainscoting and flooring
• Tapered pine or spruce flooring
• Specialty Timbers in unique sizes and lengths up to 60’
• Single piece (8/4 x 24 x24) eastern white pine chair blanks
• Tamarack, spruce, pine, maple and other species with the right characteristics for your special project
