Sustainable forestry is about caring for and managing forests to protect water quality, enhance wildlife habitat and provide wood products.
Sustainability isn’t what we do,
it’s who we are.
Nearly 200 years ago the Currier Family committed to the sustainable management of their forest and farmland in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont.
Six generations later that love and commitment to the land continues and grows. Whether it’s pesticide or herbicide free crops, hormone or chemical free animal products, or products from the family’s well-managed forests, Currier Forest Products is committed to our future generations.
Currier Forest Products is FSC Certified
Both the forest management and the sawmill in Danville are FSC certified CoC (Chain of Custody). The lumber, timbers and boards produced from these well-managed forests meet the highest standard of approval for ensuring a “sustainable” forest product. For instance, we do not drag or skid logs through the woods. Instead we build roads through the forest for rolling the fallen trees out on forwarders. This greatly minimizes the erosion within the forest.
The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) is an independent, non-governmental, not for profit organization established to promote the responsible management of the world’s forests.
We all have a role to play in educating current and future customers about the importance of sound management and sustainability in our products. At Currier Forest Products we believe the best teachers are role models, and we strive to model sustainable behavior in all that we do. Sustainability isn’t what we do, it’s who we are.
